After 13 years on the run, police finally caught up with Ji Siguang, who had changed his name to Zhang Guofeng and became a successful, well-known television personality.
He appeared in more than 30 television dramas over the years, including one very popular series called Lurk that ran in 2009, in which he played the role of a detective.
Police tracked him down and publicly accused of attacking a policeman and stealing the officer’s weapon in the northern Chinese city of Qiqihar.
According to media reports, Zhang did admit to being involved in the 1998 assault that involved two other accomplices.
